Enabling a deeper pursuit of our passion for premium cigars
and the people who make them.
"Our goal is to build a brand that outlives us - something that's meaningful and impactful for generations to come."
Luciano Meirelles, Co-founder and CEO
What Our Friends Are Saying
Luciano's made a huge contribution to this industry, with his ideas, creativity and innovation for the future of cigars. I told him once to take care of our future, and now I can only await with anticipation for what's to come from Luciano Cigars.
Carlito Fuente
Luciano is building a company of growers, producers, and artisans with a highly creative approach. The Luciano Cigars transformation is something to keep your eye on and I wish him mad success!
Jonathan Drew
Before one can be judged on his success, one must be judged on his values and principles. Luciano is a special soul, one that has his heart in the right place and sees into the horizon.
Jeremiah Meerapfel
I commend Luciano for taking this great step. It would be an honor and privilege to eventually connect our two tobacco families. I look forward to blending beautiful cigars together.
More than twenty years ago -- long before the brand existed -- the foundation was already being built in the fields: cultivating tobacco, understanding the land, and working alongside the people whose lives depend on it. That early connection to agriculture shaped everything that followed.
What began as a nonprofit initiative in Esteli, Nicaragua, focused on creating fair-wage jobs, quickly grew into something more. Through manufacturing for other premium brands, a deeper connection formed -- not only to the craft, but to the culture and the people behind it. In 2017, that foundation led to the launch of Ace Prime Cigars.
After years of growth and partnership, Luciano Cigars emerged as the next phase -- an independent, fully integrated company. More recently, Luciano Cigars formed Constella Group, an international organization spanning the full spectrum of the tobacco business: cultivation, processing, trading, private-label manufacturing, accessories, and nonprofit initiatives.
Today, everything lives under one name. From growing and sourcing tobacco to blending, production, and distribution, every step is connected and intentional -- every cigar built with respect for the process and the people behind it. Created not just to be smoked, but to stand for something.
Our Founders
Luciano Meirelles, Co-Founder and CEO
After more than a decade in the industry, Luciano now directs Luciano Cigars, a fully vertically-integrated company from seed to smoke. The co-founder and namesake of our company leads with passion for premium cigars and the people who make them.
Having built his career as a highly successful serial entrepreneur and political consultant, Luciano's name brings a commitment to working only at the highest standard of excellence.
Tiago Splitter, Co-Founder
Besides being a co-founder of Luciano Cigars, Tiago Splitter is best known as the first Brazilian-born player to ever win an NBA championship in 2014 with the San Antonio Spurs. With an extraordinary career that spanned across continents, Luciano Cigars is proud to have Tiago Splitter now on our team.
After retiring from the Spurs, Tiago has now focused on his career as an assistant coach for the Brooklyn Nets and as a co-founder of our company. Tiago is an inspiring embodiment of grit, passion, and a commitment to always elevating the values that matter most.
Our Process
The journey of each and every one of our cigars begins and ends with people. All of our cigars are hand-rolled at the Luciano Cigars Factory in Esteli, Nicaragua, before being shipped for distribution to our warehouse in West Palm Beach, FL.
We honor all of the lives involved in this artisanal craft. To be cigar makers is a great opportunity and privilege we humbly treasure.
Everything Luciano Cigars stands for now lives under one name: Constella Group. After years of growth and partnership, Luciano Cigars emerged as an independent, fully integrated company -- and more recently formed Constella, the international organization that brings the entire craft together under a single vision.
Constella spans the full spectrum of the tobacco business -- from growing and sourcing tobacco to blending, production, and distribution. Every step is connected and intentional, every cigar built with respect for the process and the people behind it.
It began, as it always has, in the fields of Esteli, Nicaragua -- with a nonprofit initiative focused on fair-wage jobs, a deep connection to the land, and a belief that a cigar should be created not just to be smoked, but to stand for something.

A Union of Legacy & Innovation
Constella Group was launched through the union of Luciano Cigars and EMT (Empresa Madeirense de Tabacos SA), a 142-year-old Portuguese tobacco company. The collaboration brings together legacy and innovation -- a platform built to preserve tradition while pushing the craft forward.
That new chapter was marked by Élevé, a limited-edition cigar created to celebrate the beginning of Constella Group.
Crafted to inspire reflection and intentionality, Fiat Lux encourages you to slow down and engage with the moment. Named after the Latin phrase for "Let there be light," it explores the journey toward clarity, mindfulness, and intellectual discovery.
The blend offers a refined, medium-bodied experience with layers that unfold gently: creamy texture, natural sweetness, a touch of pepper, and warm undertones of coffee and cedar. Every draw is a moment of balance between flavor and thought.
A celebration of the uniquely human gift to dream forward.
The Dreamer is a celebration of that uniquely human gift -- the ability to dream forward, to envision new realities and bring them to life. It is a reflection of our distinction as creators, thinkers, and storytellers.
Crafted with intention, The Dreamer carries notes of nuts, subtle spice, and moderate sweetness, with evolving layers that mirror the inner landscape of imagination. Each draw invites reflection -- an exploration of ideas, emotions, and possibilities waiting to be shaped.
Mas Igneus -- a Catalan phrase meaning "House of Ignition" -- captures the spirit of this bold and refined cigar. Crafted with Luciano Meirelles' signature approach to strength without aggression, it offers a medium-to-full-bodied profile with a beautifully balanced pH and flavors that deliver power with finesse.
Originally developed to pair with the acclaimed "M" wine from Spain's historic Mas Igneus Winery in Priorat, this cigar shines alongside bold, high-tannin reds -- Priorat, American Cabernet, and Malbec -- and pairs exceptionally with bourbon, matching its warmth and complexity.
Subtle yet bold -- just like the woman who inspired it.
Maria Lucia is a tribute to Luciano's mother -- an elegant force of nature who passed when he was just twelve. The cigar's artwork was drawn by his daughter, Deborah Meirelles, at just fourteen years old, guided by a dream of a woman she had never met but felt deeply connected to. Deborah created the portrait without ever seeing a photo.
Wrapped in Connecticut Broadleaf with fillers from the Dominican Republic, Peru, and Nicaragua, Maria Lucia balances sweet oak, vibrant acidity, and a medium-full strength. Box-pressed for a smooth draw, it is subtle yet bold, complex, and unforgettable -- just like the woman who inspired it.
This Limited Edition Parejo format of the best-selling Maria Lucia pays tribute to Luciano's mother with even greater intensity -- uncovering new layers of her strength, resilience, and complexity.
Wrapped in a bold Mexican San Andrés Ligero and bound by a unique dual binder of Connecticut Broadleaf and Sumatra, this cigar brings a new dimension to the Maria Lucia story. A filler blend of Peruvian, Brazilian Mata Fina, and Nicaraguan tobaccos amplifies the original's signature frequency while introducing deeper contrast and emotion. The construction delivers a perfect draw, allowing the full spectrum of flavors to unfold in harmony.
It's the same spirit you've come to love -- now deeper, more expressive, and unapologetically her.
From Dreamer to Maker. A journey forged in purpose, perfected by hand.
The Maker is Luciano's flagship -- the embodiment of what happens when a dream is met with discipline. Where The Dreamer celebrates imagination, The Maker honors the act of building: the hands, the hours, and the intention behind every cigar that leaves the factory.
Structured and execution-driven, it is a blend designed to reward focus. A Habano Corojo '99 wrapper crowns a binder of Sumatra and Mexico over a filler of Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos, delivering a refined, purposeful smoke that carries the full weight of the Luciano name.
It is, simply, a cigar made by makers -- for those who build.
The Sergeant honors those who serve -- and those who carry the weight of that service long after they come home. It is a salute rendered in tobacco: disciplined, dependable, and built to stand at attention.
An Ecuadorian Corojo '98 wrapper covers a U.S.A. Connecticut Hybrid binder and a Nicaraguan filler drawn from Estélí Ligero, Jalapa, and Pueblo Nuevo visos -- a blend with backbone and quiet resolve.
A portion of every sale supports Dog's Inc., which raises and places service dogs with veterans living with PTSD. Learn more at dogsinc.org.

The Machinist is a tribute to precision -- to the people who measure twice, tune relentlessly, and build the tools that build everything else. It was inspired by Jack Beaver, who chased precision in all he did.
The blend reflects that exacting spirit: notes of cocoa and cedar carried on a current of freshness. A Mexican San Andrés Viso wrapper sits over a binder of Ecuadorian Sumatra Viso and Indonesian leaf, with an inventive filler of American Pennsylvania, Dominican HVA, and dark air-cured South African tobacco.
It is a cigar engineered for those who craft the future, one careful detail at a time.

Underrated is affordable luxury -- proof that accessible never has to mean compromised. It was built for the smoker who has been counted out and answered anyway, delivering the refinement of a premium blend at a price that lets you reach for it every day.
The cigar was conceived and co-owned with Ron Harper, the five-time NBA champion who spent a career being underestimated and winning regardless. That same chip-on-the-shoulder spirit runs through the blend: a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder, with a filler drawn from Ecuador, Nicaragua, and the United States.
Don't let the value fool you. Underrated has everything to prove, and it does.
Foreign Affair is what happens when two worlds meet over a shared love of fine tobacco. It is a partnership between Luciano Meirelles and Frank Cossio -- two perspectives, two backgrounds, one blend that speaks a common language.
Medium-bodied and built for conversation, it carries an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over a dual binder of Nicaraguan and Ecuadorian leaf, with a filler drawn from Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic. The result is balanced, worldly, and inviting -- a cigar with no borders.
Dalay Nicaragua is a collaboration with Salih Dalay and Dalay Zigarren of Germany -- a meeting of Esteli's terroir and European refinement. It was made to capture the soul of Nicaragua's tobacco tradition and carry it across the Atlantic intact.
An Ecuadorian Corojo '98 wrapper crowns a dual binder of Brazilian Arapiraca and Ecuadorian Corojo '98, over an all-Nicaraguan filler pulled from Pueblo Nuevo, Jalapa, Esteli, and Masatepe. The blend is rich and rooted, a portrait of the country in every draw.
The Resilient is a Limited Edition born from the friendship of Adrián González and Luciano Meirelles -- a tribute to the bonds that endure and the character that comes from weathering everything life sends your way.
Cubanesque and medium-bodied, the blend unfolds with a nutty creaminess, mild spice, and warm notes of cocoa and coffee. An Ecuadorian Colorado H92 wrapper sits over a Nicaraguan binder and a filler of Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos -- balanced, refined, and quietly confident.
Élevé is a Limited Edition that marks the launch of Constella Group -- the union of Luciano with EMT, the 142-year-old Portuguese tobacco company. It is a cigar built to commemorate a new chapter, and to elevate everything that came before it.
The blend is layered and elegant: creamy cedar, sweet spice, and a thread of dried fruit. An Ecuadorian Colorado H92 wrapper crowns a Brazilian Matafina binder, over a rare filler drawn from the Azores, the Dominican Republic, and the United States.
A limited release worthy of the moment it celebrates.

Luciano Cigars Unveils Fiat Lux Limited Edition ‘Tenebrus’ and Announces Manufacturing Collaboration in Honduras
Fort Lauderdale, FL — March 16, 2024
Luciano Cigars is thrilled to announce the launch of the Fiat Lux Limited Edition ‘Tenebrus,’ a testament to our new strategic manufacturing partnership with Plasencia’s factory-Tabacos de Oriente, where the celebrated Fiat Lux line is now being crafted.
The introduction of TENEBRUS marks a pivotal moment celebrating a shared commitment to excellence in cigar manufacturing. This collaboration allows Luciano Cigars to enhance its production capabilities, further enriching its portfolio of 20 Luciano brands and 4 regular private labels from its factory in Esteli, Nicaragua.
"We are very pleased to welcome Luciano and his family to produce some of their brands in Honduras. This new production is in line with our strategy to put the name of Honduras on high by manufacturing brands like Luciano's. This production links the relationship of friendship and respect between the two families who have always been known by supporting the communities where they operate."
— Nestor André Plasencia, CEO Plasencia Cigars
TENEBRUS comes from the Latin word ‘Tenebris’, meaning darkness, and the concept was actually a result of a philosophical reflection brought by Joshua Beaver, Luciano’s Midwest Regional Sales Representative.
"Our meetings are always full of philosophical discussions," says Josh Beaver. "In our company everyone has a voice and I'm honored to have somehow contributed to the development of this brand".
TENEBRUS embodies the philosophical journey from "darkness into light", mirroring the Latin expression ‘Fiat Lux’ (let there be light). This connection not only highlights the profound depth of the blend but also the enlightening experience it promises to offer.
The cigar is crafted with a "dual-wrapper"; one, a Habano from Azuacualpa, Olancho – Honduras (Plasencia’s "San Agustin" Farm) and the original Fiat Lux wrapper; a Sumatra seed grown in Ecuador. Both wrappers are fermented for over 5 years and they wrap a Nicaraguan binder and fillers, ‘Tenebrus’ offers a medium-full blend with an intricate balance of sweetness and depth. This blend is a creation born of innovation and tradition, a tribute to the expertise and legacy that define our industry.
"Discovering that wrapper from the San Agustin farm was a moment of serendipity and tradition entwined. When I was invited into their pre-industry, revealing those precious, aged leaves—a mere small pilón left in existence called my attention—it felt like uncovering treasure. These wrappers, grown in the lush fields of Olancho, carried a story in each vein, a narrative of legacy and innovation. It was in that moment, surrounded by the scent of heritage and the warmth of friendship and brotherhood, that Tenebrus began to take shape. Crafting Tenebrus wasn't just about creating another cigar; it was an homage to tradition, a nod to the exceptional, and a celebration of the endless possibilities when passion meets partnership."
— Luciano Meirelles, President of Luciano USA

In honor of Conrado's lasting legacy, Luciano Cigars is proud to contribute a portion of the proceeds from Tenebrus to the Plasencia’s "Souls from the Earth" Foundation. About Luciano Cigars:
Luciano Cigars is a Tobacco Grower company, cigar manufacturer company and premium cigar distributors. With a commitment to quality and craftsmanship, Luciano Cigars offers a wide range of premium cigars to cater to the diverse tastes of cigar enthusiasts worldwide.
Luciano Cigars is proud to announce the arrival of Y Panda at the upcoming 2023 PCA Trade Show. The new cigar highlights the complexity of the human experience, with all of its challenges and paradoxes.
Y Panda invites its smokers to embrace the contrasts of life, and to be challenged by the thought that life’s most important answers start with asking Y.
Y Panda is the newest addition to the Luciano Cigars’ Family of Brands that features an ambassador. Taking smokers on a journey that explores the intersection of tradition and innovation, it was inspired by the complex life of Linxu “Panda” Yan, the many contradictions found between his heritage and chosen life path, and his experience being mentored by Luciano Meirelles, co-founder and CEO of Luciano Cigars.
Y Panda, as a cigar, expresses Panda Yan’s own intersection between tradition and innovation: the pain of leaving family behind, the joy of finding one’s calling in a new place, and a mentor to guide him through. Panda made the decision to leave his native country of China at 16 to become the man he aspired to be. At 19, he left to study in the United States, where he found a new home in the world of tobacco after graduating from college, over seven years ago. His introduction to the cigar industry came later, when he began working at a retail shop in Memphis, TN. It was years later, after the COVID-19 pandemic, that Panda made his way to Estelí, Nicaragua, where he’s lived since.
“I have always found that life is best lived when we embrace its contradictions. From his own identity, to moments in life where he’s been blessed even when most struggling, this cigar is Panda’s attempt at expressing a new realization. Y Panda is about finding the good in the bad, the opportunity when things go wrong, and some of life’s answers even when overwhelmed with questions and uncertainty. Panda is one of a kind, a super taster and working with him was priceless.”
— Luciano Meirelles, CEO and Co-Founder of Luciano Cigars
Panda has devoted this chapter of life learning about the cigar making process in its entirety alongside Luciano. Despite having very different backgrounds, the two connected through a mutual passion for tobacco and Luciano’s desire to extend his legacy through mentees. For the last couple of years, Panda has been immersed in the company’s vertical operations, interning and learning at its farms, aging facilities, and factories. Y Panda is the co-blended expression of this mentorship, Panda’s own journey and the universal meaning found in both.
“I truly believe the very reason Luciano does what he does is rooted in people, relationships, and the dreams that can be built together. I’m humbled to be added to the legacy of Luciano Cigars with Y Panda.”
— Linxu “Panda” Yan, Co-Blender of Y Panda
Co-blended by Panda and Luciano, this cigar, as easy to smoke, as it is hard to define, seeks to disrupt palettes with the signature complexity for which Luciano Cigars is known. Y Panda poses an invitation and challenge to its smokers with a blend that is not easy to place. It features a carefully aged Corojo 98 colorado wrapper. In addition, its double binder with Brazilian Arapiraca and an original Sumatra strain grown in Ecuador and presents a mild sweetness as the answer to balance its body. As a reflection of the deliberate co-blending, even its fillers operate as the yin and yang: the combination of Jalapa viso and Esteli seco results in edgy sweetness, mild flavors brought to life with slight strength to the seasoned palate.
The cigar, which is produced at the Luciano Cigars factory in Esteli, Nicaragua, will come in 20 count boxes and priced accordingly in the following sizes:
Sublime: 6 1/2 x 54 — $13.70
Toro: 6 x 52 — $12.70
Robusto: 5 x 50 — $11.70
Corona Gorda: 5 5/8 x 46 — $10.20
Luciano Cigars welcomes you to visit Booth #17035 at the PCA Trade Show next week, where we will begin taking orders for Y Panda in all four sizes. The cigars have already been produced and will be ready to ship by the end of the month of July.
ATL’s Wise Blood Highlighted at PCA 2023, New Vitolas to be Unveiled
Fort Lauderdale, FL — June 28, 2023
After a "soft launch" of ATL's Wise Blood cigar at this year's TPE, we will officially present ATL's Wise Blood cigar at the 2023 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) trade show. Blended by Luciano Meirelles, Wise Blood is the fifth addition to ATL's portfolio. This cigar draws inspiration from Flannery O'Connor's iconic novel, inviting smokers into a realm of reflection and appreciation for the harmony found within a balanced blend. Wise Blood features an Ecuadorian Habano Rosado HVA wrapper, an Ecuadorian Connecticut binder, and carefully selected fillers sourced from three regions in Nicaragua, crafted to be a mild-to-medium-bodied cigar.
The ATL's expansion of the Good Trouble, the ATL Black, and the ATL Magic will be officially launched at the PCA 2023. The Good Trouble, named in honor of Atlanta's beloved adopted son, the late John Lewis, has garnered a loyal following since its launch. In addition to the existing Robusto (5 x 50) and Gran Toro (6 1/2 x 56) sizes, the Good Trouble now includes a Corona (5 1/4 x 44) vitola. The Blend has also been upgraded. It now adorns a Habano 2000 wrapper over an Ecuadorian Connecticut sun-grown binder and fillers from Esteli, Jalapa Valley, and Pueblo Nuevo.
The ATL Black, initially released in a Torpedo (6 x 52) and a Gran Toro (6 1/2 x 56) is now offered in an Elegànce vitola (6 3/4 x 50). The Elegànce showcases the same captivating blend, featuring a San Andres wrapper, a Massatepe binder, and fillers from Estelí, Jalapa, and Pueblo Nuevo, offering smokers an extended smoking session without compromising taste.
Furthermore, the ATL Magic line (Belicoso 5 x 52; Sublime 6 x 54), acclaimed for its unique flavor and aroma, is expanding its same blend with a Double Robusto (6 1/2 x 50) vitola. The introduction of the Double Robusto vitola allows a deeper exploration of the ATL Magic's complexity and allure.
"We are thrilled to expand our portfolio with these exciting additions. The Good Trouble Corona continues to pay tribute to the extraordinary legacy of John Lewis, while the Elegànce and Double Robusto vitolas enhance the smoking experience for our customers. These new sizes offer our friends opportunities to explore the depth and character of our cigars, and our city, in fresh new ways. They also highlight our partnership with Luciano; with cigars that are deep and multifaceted, like the other brands within the Luciano Cigars family of brands."
— Leroy Lamar, Co-founder of ATL Cigar Co and partner of Luciano Cigars
The three cigars with expanded sizes will now be offered with the following MSRP:
ATL Magic: Belicoso 5 x 52 — $11.00; Sublime 6 x 54 — $11.50; Double Robusto 6 1/2 x 50 — $12.50

ATL Good Trouble: Gran Toro 6 1/2 x 56 — $13.00; Robusto 5 x 50 — $10.30; Corona 5 1/4 x 44 — $9.50
"The ATL brands continues to flourish, driven by our shared commitment to community and purpose. The Wise Blood, in particular, is a testament to the affinity between our team, offering cigar lovers an opportunity to explore profound questions while indulging in the nuanced pleasure of a fine cigar."
— Luciano Meirelles, Co-Founder and CEO of Luciano Cigars

Luciano Cigars Launches a Full Core Line of Maria Lucia at PCA 2023
Fort Lauderdale, FL — June 28, 2023
Luciano Cigars is honored to announce the transformation of our Maria Lucia cigar into a full core line. The love and support from our customers has been overwhelming, and we are excited to make this "unashamedly bold" blend into regular production.
When we introduced Maria Lucia to honor Luciano Meirelles' late mother, we never imagined the incredible response it would receive. It quickly became our best-selling single SKU, and we are honored to see it grow into a full core line just a year later at PCA. Our entire sales team is beyond thrilled with the news!
"In my 25 + years in this industry I've never seen such rapid growth in demand for a cigar. It's come full circle for us to meet it with this expansion into a core line, a year later but once again at PCA. Our entire sales team at Luciano Cigars are thrilled with the news!"
— Ed Treviño, Director of Sales for Luciano Cigars
Each cigar is meticulously rolled with a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, two binders from Ecuador (one grown from Sumatra seed, the other Havana '92), and a blend of fillers sourced from Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, and Peru. The medium to full strength profile offers a harmonious balance of flavors, ensuring a captivating smoking experience.
An integral part of the Maria Lucia story is the artwork adorning the cigar boxes and bands. Luciano Meirelles' oldest daughter contributed her talent by creating a portrait of her grandmother, Maria Lucia, without ever having seen her photograph. The resemblance between the portrait and Luciano's mother was uncanny, making it the perfect choice for the artwork associated with this deeply meaningful cigar.
"It's been overwhelming to see how much this cigar has started to mean to people. I get messages every week… Truthfully, I'm just grateful for the opportunity to honor my mother, to let her legacy grow and her story be known through this cigar."
— Luciano Meirelles, son of Maria Lucia and Co-Founder of Luciano Cigars
To celebrate the expansion of the Maria Lucia line, Luciano Cigars will exhibit the original artwork of Maria Lucia at the upcoming trade show. This display not only pays tribute to the inspiration behind the cigar but also showcases the company's dedication to artistry and storytelling.
Listening to the feedback and requests from retailers, Luciano Cigars conducted an informal survey to identify the most sought-after sizes that would match the best expressions of the blend. The expansion not only includes new sizes but also increases the box count to 24 cigars. The Maria Lucia core line will feature the following sizes, all box pressed:
Magnum Box Pressed: 5 1/4 x 54 — $12.96
Cañonazo Box Pressed: 5 7/8 x 52 — $12.80
Double Robusto Box Pressed: 6 1/2 x 50 — $12.50
Corona Gorda Box Pressed: 5 5/8 x 46 — $11.50
The cigar is being produced at Luciano Cigars' Maria Lucia Factory, from where new orders in all four sizes will be ready to ship immediately after the trade show.
Luciano Cigars and Dalay Zigarren Announce U.S. Distribution Agreement, Unveiling Two New Cigars at PCA 2023
Fort Lauderdale, FL — June 21, 2023
Luciano Cigars and Dalay Zigarren are proud to announce a new partnership between the two companies for the exclusive distribution of Dalay products by Luciano Cigars in the United States. The companies will debut the new agreement with two new cigars at the Premium Cigar Association trade show (PCA 2023) in Las Vegas, NV, from July 8th to the 11th.
The partnership between the two companies have been in the works for a while now, as they have worked together for nearly five years, with Dalay being the sole distributor of Luciano Cigars in Germany. Established by industry veteran Salih Dalay in 1998, Dalay Zigarren is a leading cigar importer, exporter and distributor in the German market. Dalay is also an official Cuban retailer with a “La Casa del Habano” in Saarbrücken, Germany.
“Luciano is a true friend. Working with him along the years has been an honor, and to take that partnership even further with this agreement is superbe. From blending an incredible new cigar for us, to working with us to bring Dalay cigars to US shores, we are ecstatic to be at this year’s PCA with Luciano.”
— Salih Dalay, Owner and founder of Dalay Zigarren
One of the new surprises for this PCA trade show is a cigar called “Istanbul” that Luciano Cigars and Dalay Zigarren will introduce to the public. Istanbul pays homage to Salih Dalay’s Turkish heritage and passion for tobacco. With over a decade in the making, the Dalay Istanbul is the embodiment of Salih Dalay’s vision for creating a one-of-a-kind cigar that features Turkish tobacco as part of the blend. Turkish tobacco is known for its unique compelling flavor and aromatic qualities.
“The Istanbul is a cigar like no other! When Salih asked me to validate the blend I was really honored and also very impressed with the result. Salih Dalay, Michael Grossklos and the Zauberberg factory did an amazing job on this cigar. For us it is an honor to work with them and distribute this amazing unique product amongst our portfolio, a priceless experience for our friendship— I can’t wait for July!”
— Luciano Meirelles, CEO and Co-Founder of Luciano Cigars
The years spent in blending for the cigar were also devoted to the artwork featured on the cigar ring and band. The Dalay Istanbul is the only cigar in the world to boast an original work of art on its ring, done by the internationally renowned Turkish artist, Hasan Kale, known as “Turkish Microangelo,” for his expertise of the miniature art craft. His artwork, which features images of Istanbul itself, took years for the artist to complete, and was painted on a cigar ring. The original painting will be displayed at the Luciano Cigars booth at this year’s PCA.
Salih’s daughter also worked on the design of the ring and box, with an original calligraphy art displayed. His son, who interned for a few years at the Zauberberg factory where the cigar is made, contributed significantly to the blending process as well.
“This cigar was made with the contribution of both my children, and we are all thankful for the privilege to honor our family and Turkish heritage. I have been in this industry for over two decades now, so to see the Istanbul cigar finally come to life after years of dreaming and planning feels incredible.”
— Salih Dalay
The Dalay Istanbul will debut in the American market as a PCA exclusive, available to order only for show attendees in the following sizes:
Principe: 4 1/2 x 46 — $17.00
Robusto: 5 x 50 — $18.00
Toro: 5 1/2 x 54 — $20.00
Another addition to the Luciano Cigars portfolio will be the Dalay Nicaragua. Blended by Luciano Meirelles, the new release features a Corojo 98 Ecuadorian wrapper, a double binder with Brazilian Arapiraca and Ecuadorian Habano 2000, and all Nicaraguan fillers from Pueblo Nuevo, Jalapa, Esteli and Massatepe. The first Dalay cigar now being produced at the Luciano Cigars factory in Esteli, Nicaragua, the Dalay Nicaragua will come in four sizes:
Corona Gorda: 5 1/2 x 46 — $10.50
Robusto: 5 x 50 — $11.50
Toro: 6 x 52 — $12.50
Gran Toro: 6 1/2 x 56 — $13.30
“What Luciano did with this Blend is off the charts! This cigar is a stand-out in our portfolio. Luciano has always been contributing with his knowledge and vast expertise in tobacco and I consider him a mentor and a friend. Working here at Dalay has provided me many opportunities to meet people like Luciano and work with only the best.”
— Michael Grossklos, CEO and Blender for Dalay Zigarren
In addition to the Dalay Nicaragua and Dalay Istanbul, Luciano Cigars and Dalay Zigarren have plans to introduce the full range of Dalay Zigarren’s classic lines to the US by the end of the year. This will include the Dalay Dominican Republic Hell & Dunkel as well as the Dalay Honduras Hell & Dunkel, both manufactured at the Zaubergberg Factory in the Dominican Republic. The Dalay Nicaragua is manufactured at the Luciano Cigars Factory in Esteli, Nicaragua.
Both the Istanbul and the Dalay Nicaragua are scheduled to ship from the Luciano Cigars factory by the end of July, as production has already begun and is set to finish a week after the end of PCA 2023. Luciano Cigars will also be announcing additional PCA new releases in the next weeks ahead of the trade show.
Luciano Cigars is excited to announce that it has fully rebranded its Pichardo line into Tiago Cigars. The name is after Tiago Splitter, co-founder and partner of Luciano Cigars. Besides being a tobacconist actively involved in all operations of Luciano Cigars USA., Splitter is also known as an Assistant coach for the Brooklyn Nets, and his highly successful NBA career with 2014 Champions, the San Antonio Spurs.
"You get a lot of opportunities after a career in the NBA, but this project, this dream to me is like coming home to people and a company I call family. It's an honor to have my name as a brand and product I personally know to be extraordinarily blended by Luciano Meirelles."
— Tiago Splitter, Co-Founder and VP of Luciano Cigars
The highly-rated blends of the cigars will remain the same, along with the packaging and logo — though now with a T. The 'Reserva Familiar' line, however, is now rebranded into 'Familia Escogida,' which translates to Chosen Family. It highlights the relationships we build, and the people we intentionally call family.
"It was a natural process for the whole team. We believe these blends deserve a worthy and upstanding name. Tiago is not only my partner, he's more like a chosen brother. That's what this rebranding is about: honoring him for the extraordinary person he is and elevating the family we choose for ourselves."
— Luciano Meirelles, Co-Founder and CEO of Luciano Cigars
Along with the rest of the Luciano Cigars portfolio, Tiago Cigars are produced at the Luciano Cigars Factory in Estelí, Nicaragua and will be shipped in the new packaging starting off in April of 2023.
Luciano Cigars retains sole rights over the name and trademark "Pichardo," as well as its logo and design, maintaining its rights for current products in the market and eventual future use.
The cigar lines will be renamed accordingly:
Former Names:
Pichardo — Clasico: Maduro, Sumatra, Natural
Pichardo — Reserva Familiar: San Andres, Habano, Connecticut
Rebranding:
Tiago — Clasico: Maduro, Sumatra, Natural
Tiago — Familia Escogida: San Andres, Habano, Connecticut
Luciano Cigars announces a new cigar line, Foreign Affair, launching at the 2023 Total Product Expo in Las Vegas (February 22nd to 24th). The new cigar was carefully blended as an ode to the globalization of the cigar industry and its smokers, to the capacity we have of connecting with one another by experiencing a great cigar together.
"There is something extraordinarily magical that occurs in the shared space of smoke, cigars, and people. It's as if barriers are bridged, and guards lowered. The experience goes beyond language, culture, gender, or any sense of otherness. Varied pathways lead to this common ground, a sacred ambience where we can connect and understand that no matter how foreign we may be to one another, the humanity in us overwhelms our perceptive differences. Those once strangers to one another are brought together, under the influence of a worldly cigar."
— Luciano Meirelles, CEO & Co-founder of Luciano Cigars
This reverence found between premium tobacco, passion, and the relationships built from them was also reflected in the friendship between Luciano Meirelles, Frank Cossio (Co-founder of Astorian Cigar Co.), and Mike Dounoulis (Luciano Cigars' Regional Sales Manager & Co-founder of Astorian Cigar Co.). The trio worked on the cigar for over a year, led by Cossio's attentive palate, Dounoulis' creativity, and Meirelles' blending complexity. At the end of this journey, Foreign Affair is a cigar designed to appeal to the differing perceptions of all smokers.
"The idea was to convey the unique and transcendent connection we experience in the shared space of smoke, cigars, and people. This cigar to me is emblematic of the relationships and bonds we're able to build in our industry."
— Mike Dounoulis, Luciano Cigars Florida Sales Manager & Co-founder of Astorian Cigar Co.
"It's a cigar with a taste profile that contradicts itself. You find boldness alongside sweetness, and it's so balanced you can fully enjoy it without becoming overwhelmed."
— Frank Cossio, Co-founder of Astorian Cigar Co.
Foreign Affair is the invitation towards recognizing that what unites us will always be greater than what we allow to divide us. It's emblematic of a journey with no fixed destination, the beckoning to travel to understand each other.
The cigar will be offered in the following four sizes packaged in 24 count boxes:
Corona — 5 5/8 x 42 — $9.50 MSRP
Rothschild — 4 1/2 x 48 — $10.35 MSRP
Toro Extra — 6 1/2 x 52 — $11.80 MSRP
Belicoso — 6 x 54 — $12.50 MSRP
